Why Soul Purpose Psychology?
Are you wanting a transformation? Maybe you need to overcome a relationship challenge, life change, anxiety or depression? Perhaps you are feeling a loss of meaning and purpose?
My commitment is to serve and facilitate a safe and containing therapeutic space. An environment where you can explore personal, as well as life challenges and develop more self-partnering. A dedication of your time to enhance your self-understanding, deepen self-awareness and work on self-acceptance. Psychologically investing in redefining yourself and maximising your potential. Trauma not transformed is transferred, and the practice offers assistance with this transformation.
“Our lives all hold significance and have a unique meaning and purpose. My intention as a clinical psychologist, is to facilitate meaningful change in the lives of each of the unique individual’s life that I meet in the therapeutic encounter.”
Dr. E’Silva
The Therapeutic Space
In keeping with the practice name, Soul Purpose Psychology, my sole purpose is to assist in a healing process. The aim is to enhance mental fitness. I strive to create a safe place where you can ‘bring all of you’, to confront and transform your trauma, your woundedness. A safe space to unpack and examine yourself and your inner world. We can go fast or slow. I adapt to each person’s needs, respecting your time and your finances.
One of our core values is that you receive the maximum that I can offer in the journey of your healing, taking time to renew a sense of purpose, as well as personal meaning.
Julie E’Silva, PhD
My therapeutic commitment is that it is always my intention to show up fully, to be present, to be attuned to your needs and attentive to your story, with the aim to serve you therapeutically. I aim to provide a space for you to deepen your understanding and knowledge of yourself and become psychologically fit. Mental fitness is as important as physical fitness.
I have a degree in clinical psychology. My dissertation in my Master’s degree focused on the impact of repetitive trauma, while my Doctorate degree focused on addressing trauma as a link to resolving psychological stuckness.

My Approach & Philosophy
I value each client and the unique therapeutic encounter you bring. My commitment to your healing process is encouraged to be met by your own commitment to increasing self-love, acceptance and unique sense of purpose.
The relationship is an integral component of the therapeutic sessions I offer. Therapeutic aims include assisting you to maximise your connection with yourself, with others and with life itself. Exploring logotherapy principles of choice, attitude and responsibility, as well as challenging limiting belief systems are also therapeutic intentions.
I believe that unresolved trauma can result in interpersonal and intrapersonal stuckness in a person’s life. I utilise both a Logotherapeutic and Somatic Experiencing approach in addressing this stuckness. This is done by dropping inside, surrendering and fully experiencing, to allow the release as well as the transformation, to bring about more consciousness and awakening. Said differently, it is like a process of kneeling, feeling and healing.
My approach as a clinician is to hold an overarching view of presenting issues from a biopsychosocial approach. We are a body, a mind and a soul. This the frame from which I view your presenting issue or challenges. – Dr Julie E’Silva
